Overview

The .NET Framework Client Profile Offline Installer download will enable developers to create a deployment experience for users that are not connected to the internet. The download package contains the .NET Framework Client Profile and the full .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1.

The .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 package contains all the binaries an end-user may need to install the correct version of the .NET Framework. This includes binaries for the appropriate OS, like Windows XP or Windows Vista, and the appropriate CPU type, like x86 or amd64. The Microsoft .NET Framework Client Profile is the subset of features and functionality needed for the installation and distribution of .NET Framework Client Profile for client applications. The subset of features contained in the Microsoft .NET Framework Client Profile are:

  • Common Language Runtime
  • ClickOnce
  • Windows Forms
  • Windows Presentation Foundation
  • Windows Communication Foundation

The .NET Framework Client Profile enables:
  • Faster installation of .NET Framework components
  • Automatic updates for computers that have parts of the .NET Framework installed

  • Customizable deployment of client applications when deployed using the Client Profile

  • Processor: 400 MHz Pentium processor or equivalent (Minimum); 1GHz Pentium processor or equivalent (Recommended)
  • RAM: 96 MB (Minimum); 256 MB (Recommended)
  • Hard Disk: Up to 500 MB of available space may be required
  • CD or DVD Drive: Not required
  • Display: 800 x 600, 256 colors (Minimum); 1024 x 768 high color, 32-bit (Recommended)

.NET Framework development tools like Visual Studio, will not function on .NET Framework 3.5 Client Profile. Developers will need to install full .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1.

Instructions

Important: Make sure you have the latest service pack and critical updates for the version of Windows on the computer. To look for recent updates, visit Windows Update.

1. Click the Download button on this page to start the download

2. To save the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save.

3. To cancel the installation, click Cancel.

NOTE: DotNetFx35Client.exe is the "offline" installer of the Client Profile that contains all the components necessary to install the Client Profile locally. This package contains the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 package. This package does not contain any localized resources.

Additional information

If you have installed earlier pre-release versions of .NET Framework 3.5 Client Profile, then you must uninstall them prior to running this installation by using Add or Remove Programs.

    This usually happens when the printer spooler folder is filled up with unwanted files. You can fix this problem by following the steps listed below:
    1.Go to Start, Settings and click Control Panel
    2.In the Control Panel window, first double-click on Administrative Tools and then on Services.
    3.In the right pane of the Services window locate and right-click on Print Spooler and then select Stop.
    4.After you have stopped this process, leave the Service window open. Now open My Computer and navigate to the following folder.
    c:\windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS - in Windows Vista, XP, 98/95/ME
    or
    c:\winnt\system32\spool\PRINTERS - in Windows NT\2000
    5.Delete all the files in the Printers folder. After deleting the files in this folder, go back to Services window, right-click on Print Spooler, and then select start to re-enable the service.

    Or 
    Follow this steps---
       First turn off the Print Spooler service . 
      You can do it from Start - Run -- Services.msc and ok or 

       go to Control Panel> Administrative Tools -> Services

    -. Look for Print Spooler and stop it.

       If it is already stopped, 
      Just follow the next step.

      Delete ALL files in C:WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS. It should have files something like 00020.SHD, 00020.SPL and etc…
    Now spoolsv.exe should run but it’s at 0% CPU usage. 
    Just so ease to fix the spoolsv exe high cpu utilization at 99% problem.
